Greetings, Unity Family!
Summer is officially here, and I pray that we can all do more this summer than we have in the previous two. Although we are still facing the residue of a pandemic, I am glad to say that I made my first trip with an airline this June to the 2022 Unity National Convention in Overland Park, KS. It was so good to be in person after so many zoom meetings. Some people were recognizable without the mask, I really had a challenge with that when it was mandatory that we wear them. What a relief from the tough restrictions! Many of us are relieved yet I hope that we learned something during this time, most importantly about ourselves.
Without very little warning, we were challenged around the world with a virus that attempted to rule the order of our days. Some of our lives are still being dictated to through the fear of coming in contact with a carrier or environment that could transmit the lethal germs. I doubt if we will ever get rid of the virus that killed thousands in this twenty-first century so we must learn to live around it. We must not allow fear to stifle our growth, hinder our opportunities, or stop us from gathering. There is power in the gathering.
We learn in Hebrews: 10 23-25 (NIV); 23) Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess for he who promised is faithful. 24) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25) Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Meeting together at the convention was not just a good thing it is a Biblical and Spiritual Truth thing. Attending the National Convention included me being able to be at the graduation and licensing ceremony, to support those who have committed to share the Unity message as teachers and ministers of Truth. It allowed me to share in conversations and activities that inspired me to come back to my church excited and energized.
If you were not able to attend the National Convention and those who were there, I encourage you to attend this year’s Unity Regional Conference. The Great Lakes Unity Regional Conference (GLURC) is coming in September, and you are invited to attend the gathering. There is power in the gathering! Come and encourage one another in love, peace, health, and Unity. Bring your family, friends, and church members for a time of growth, enlightenment, and connecting. There will be more information to come on how to register. As we enjoy our summer take time and plan to attend GLURC this September 2022.
Love & Light,
Rev. Anita
